Service Charge Accountant – Harrow – £34,000 – £42,000 DOE

Our client, a Property Management Company based in Harrow are looking for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their team. They manage both residential and commercial properties across the UK.

The ideal candidate needs to have excellent attention to detail and have a positive attitude towards work. Experience and understanding service charge accounts is a prerequisite. For the right candidate there is scope for ongoing professional development, training and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with monthly Bank Reconciliations of individual service charge accounts
• Assisting with preparing Service Charge Year End Accounts for review and approval by external qualified Accountants
• Issuing Service Charge Year End Accounts once signed off by external qualified Accountants
• Assist with answering enquiries which are service charge accounts based as and when necessary
• Update financial and non-financial data and information in databases to ensure that details are accurate and up to date
• Issuing Service charge Budgets once agreed
• Deal with leaseholder account enquires.
• Read and complete balance sheets

Person Specification

• Service charge accounts experience within the property management industry for at least 2-6 years
• Excellent organisation skills
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with other computer and accounting software is desirable. Training will be provided on current accounts software.
• AAT qualified or part qualified – preferred
• ACCA qualified – not essential
• Able to undertake balance sheet with year end
• A team player and ability to work on own initiative

• Salary: £34,000 – £42,000 DOE
• Working hours: 9am to 5:30pm, office based but potential to WFH 1 day after probation and with the ability to work with supervision
